Exec: Total to continue coop with Novatek in framework of sanctions

MOSCOW, Apr 24 (PRIME) -- France’s oil and gas producer Total will continue to cooperate with Russian companies, including Novatek, to the extent allowed by the restrictions imposed by U.S. sanctions, Senior Vice President of Exploration Kevin McLachlan said on the sidelines of an oil summit on Tuesday.

“We fulfill all legal requirements and restrictions in the framework of the sanctions. Russia is an important country for us, we have a stake in Novatek and a project of development on Yamal, so yes, we will continue (cooperation),” McLachlan said.

On April 6, the U.S. imposed sanctions against 38 Russian tycoons, officials and companies.
